Shakespeare Research

http://goo.gl/SrcBW

Although I honestly can say the way we talk today is ... lazier than the way they spoke in the Elizabethan era but it's the strange dialect that makes Shakespeare.... Shakespeare!  Of course, reading difficult works requires more brain activity than reading something simpler. Thats why allot of high school and college students hate Shakespeare  Its challenging to read and translate into words we can compute, Shakespeare requires too much concentration even for people whose brains have been fully stimulated for a long time.
The article never explains how the researchers conducted showed that such stimulation is beneficial in itself. Everyone takes Shakespeare in a different way some people don't mind the tough context, but for those who hate it of course the brain activity is going to be higher because they'll be struggling to understand it and they will slowly become stressed over it. The quality is okay, I think they could have explained them selves a bit better but it is what it is.
